My mom called last night during the Super Bowl. “Are you watching the halftime show?” she asked. Of course I was. I love Beyonce. Some people say she can’t sing, I disagree, but that’s how I feel. Plus, if I ever had to sing to save my life then I’d be in trouble, let’s put it that way. What I like most about Beyonce though is the performance. The dancing! I have been dancing since I could walk, that’s what I say at least. The girl can dance, that’s for sure. I was also excited to see Michelle and Kelly pop up on stage too; however, I think Michelle had a small “Oh shit!” moment because it looked like when she came up from below that she almost didn’t land right and could have fallen over. Jettisoned up on the stage during the Super Bowl isn’t the time you want to fall on your ass. Nope.
My husband however doesn’t care for “that kind of music”. He’s a Motley Crue, Poison, Scorpions or anything country kinda boy. And that’s fine. I like all of that too. But he even admitted that Beyonce’s performance was so much better than in years past with Madonna (who needs to retire) or that disaster that was the Rolling Stones a few years ago. Thankfully my husband knows my love of dancing so he put up with my booty shaking/arm waving party I had for myself in front of the couch. Bless him.
Dancing is like dreaming with your feet! ~Constanze
After that was all over, and I caught my breath, I got to thinking about how much I used to dance. I don’t do it as often anymore because I’m so out of shape. It also doesn’t help that my jelly seems to shake more than it used and that really bugs me. I don’t feel confident. That’s the big problem. Even when I go to my Zumba class I don’t get with it like I used to either. Mostly because I can’t keep up because I’m heavier but I’m also trying to remain upright and breath correctly so I don’t get a side cramp.

Bose SoundDock
I also used to dance more at home, that is until I got rid of my bulk stereo. No stereo system = no dancing around the house. I have an iPod but I use ear buds at work enough that I only allow my iPod blaring in my ears unless I’m at the gym. Know what I mean? My little ear holes kind of hurt if I use my ear buds too much! Well that changed this weekend when I finally picked up a Bose SoundDock for iPod at Sam’s Club and I loooooove it. The small unit even comes with a little remote and the quality of sound that comes from the speaker is amazing.
So here’s to more rump shaking and some calorie burning to go along with it. My jeans are a little snug so I need to fix that!
Do you perform halftime shows in your own living room? Do you use an iPod or a stereo system of sorts to rip it up?
